British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course starts June 2012!
This 60 hour weekend course is an excellent way of going deeper into your practice. It is also a good foundation for those considering going on to become Yoga Teachers. The course includes:
- Philosophy of Yoga
- History of Yoga
- Asana and Pranayama
- Mudra and Bandha
- Ayurveda
- Shatkarmas (Cleansing techniques)
- Meditation
- Mantra
- Chanting
- Chakras and Nadis
- Guest teachers from a variety of traditions including:
- Viniyoga (Tara Fraser)
- Ashtanga Yoga (Nigel Jones)
- Iyengar Yoga (Tessa Bull)
And a lot of fun and practice!!
The course is taught with roughly 50% Asana and 50% theory and other subtle practices. It is an excellent preparation for teacher training but you may simply desire to deepen your practice without going on to further study.
Homework is set but it is not compulsory. You can get out of it what you want! If you require a certificate however, you will need to attend 80% of the course.
